Forged fittings manufacturer in India

Socket weld and threaded forged fittings (elbows, tees, couplings, caps, crosses, olets, unions and nipples) from an EIL approved, IBR approved and PED certified manufacturer.

Paras Engineering Works is a forged fittings manufacturer in India making ASME B16.11 socket weld fittings in 3000#, 6000# and 9000# class and threaded fittings in 3000# and 6000# class with NPT, BSP and BSPT threads, from 1/2" to 4" NB, in carbon, stainless, duplex and alloy steel, at its works in Vasai (E), Palghar.

Forged pipe fittings we make

Paras makes both end types in-house at Vasai (E):

  • Socket weld forged fittings: 45° and 90° elbows, equal and reducing tees, half, full and reducing couplings, caps, equal and reducing crosses, unions, plugs and adapters.
  • Threaded (screwed) forged fittings with NPT, BSP or BSPT threads: 45° and 90° elbows, equal and reducing tees, half, full and reducing couplings, caps, crosses, unions, plugs, adapters, and barrel and swage nipples.
  • Olets: weldolets and sockolets for welded branches and threadolets for threaded branches, to MSS SP-97, plus latrolets.
  • Unions to MSS SP-83.

Socket weld or threaded forged fittings?

Socket weld fittings take the pipe into a socket and are fillet welded, so the weld seals the joint: the usual choice where leak tightness matters, such as hazardous, flammable or high-temperature lines. Threaded fittings screw onto the pipe and need no welding, which suits small-bore utility and instrument lines assembled on site.

ASME B16.11 sets the class designations: socket weld fittings come in Class 3000, 6000 and 9000 and threaded fittings in Class 2000, 3000 and 6000, each series matched to Schedule 80, Schedule 160 and XXS pipe. The class is a designation, not a pressure rating in psi.

Approvals and third-party inspection

Paras is EIL approved (Engineers India Limited) and IBR approved, PED 2014/68/EU and ISO 9001:2015 certified, and forged fitting orders can be inspected by any of 13 third-party agencies, including Bureau Veritas, SGS, Lloyd's Register, TÜV and IBR. The same works makes butt weld fittings up to 64" NB, forged flanges up to 48" NB and plate flanges up to 100" NB, so one manufacturer can supply both the small-bore and the large-bore fittings and flanges for a line.

Frequently asked questions

Forged fittings manufacturer: common questions. Can't find your answer?

A01

Pipe fittings formed by forging carbon, stainless, duplex or alloy steel and then machining it to final shape. They are used in small-bore, high-pressure piping, and ASME B16.11 sets their dimensions and class designations for socket weld and threaded ends.

A02

A socket weld fitting is fillet welded around a pipe inserted into its socket, so the weld seals the joint; a threaded fitting screws on with NPT, BSP or BSPT threads and needs no welding. Socket weld suits lines where leak tightness matters; threaded suits small-bore utility and instrument lines.

A03

They are ASME B16.11 class designations matched to pipe wall thickness: socket weld Class 3000, 6000 and 9000 match Schedule 80, Schedule 160 and XXS pipe, and threaded Class 2000, 3000 and 6000 match the same schedules, so threaded fittings have no Class 9000. The class is not a pressure rating in psi.

A04

Forged socket weld fittings from 1/2" to 4" NB in 3000#, 6000# and 9000# class, and threaded fittings from 1/2" to 4" NB in 3000# and 6000# class with NPT, BSP and BSPT threads.

A05

Carbon steel ASTM A105 / A105N, low temperature A350 LF2, stainless A182 F304/304L, F316/316L, F310, F316Ti, F317, F321 and F347, duplex A182 F51, F53 and F60, and alloy A182 F5, F9, F11, F22 and F91.

A06
